Honda's Rich Eierstedt leads Lackey and Semics into the second turn.
Howerton and Semics were having a season long battle for the 500cc National Championship.
Hannah was in the lead and was riding extremely hard. Here he uses up all of the monoshock on his factory Yamaha.
Karsmakers was riding very fast too and toward the end of the moto he was slowly reeling Hannah in.
Howerton was riding consistenly while Semics came on strong mid to late in the season.
Both riders were way out front and everyone was watching as Karsmakers inched closer to Hannah.
At the finish Karsmakers barely passed Hannah and both riders looked spent from the heat. To think in a few short years Karsmakers went from showing the way to American MX'ers to barely beating an up and comer like Hannah.
